The late 1960s and early 1970s saw a shifting climate in Geneva, with the emergence of a new scene that served as a breeding ground for the visual arts. The “debate on contemporary art,” held at the Rencontres Internationales de Genève (RIG) in 1948, was slowly fading into the past, and the atavistic rejection of “modernity” was becoming less pronounced.
