Il n’y a que le temps qui dure: this was the title of the exhibition organized by Marie José Burki following her nomination for the Manor Cultural Prize—an award whose history is closely intertwined with that of MAMCO and that sheds a singular light on what makes the museum unique. The Manor Cultural Prize (formerly known as the Placette Prize) is one of the most important contemporary art prizes in Switzerland, resonating far beyond the Canton of Geneva. It was established in 1982 by Philippe Nordmann, director of family-owned business Maus Frères and Founder of MAMCO.
