Artist, filmmaker, and screenwriter Patricia Plattner was born in Geneva in 1953. After studying art history, she graduated from the School of Visual Arts in 1975. In the years that followed, she devoted herself to her artistic practice, creating numerous performances, producing works in public spaces, presenting solo exhibitions, and collaborating with other artists. In 1979, she co-founded the collective Les Studios Lolos, active in graphic design, photography, painting, and film.

She subsequently turned to cinema and, in 1985, founded her own production company, Light Night Production. Her filmography spans a wide range of subjects: an avid traveler with an unceasing curiosity about the world, she directed documentaries, sensitive portraits (of Georges Schwizgebel, Herbert von Karajan, David Streiff, Nicolas Bouvier), and fiction films exploring human relationships, particularly between women. She also co-produced numerous works for both cinema and television.

Patricia Plattner, who passed away in 2016, left a lasting imprint on the regional and national cultural landscape through her commitment to the arts and the film community. In 2025, her family donated her archives to MAMCO, a selection of which is presented in this exhibition.
