The MAMCO Geneva celebrates the tenth anniversary of In Course of Acquisition at Art Genève. Through this project, the museum carries out in situ acquisitions over the five days of the fair, enriching its collection while making visible a process that usually remains discreet at the heart of art fairs. Since its launch, In Course of Acquisition has enabled the acquisition of around sixty works between 2017 and 2026.
This anniversary edition unfolds across two complementary booths. The first offers a selective look back at the past decade, presenting a group of works acquired since the project’s inception. The second, true to the spirit of In Course of Acquisition, is deliberately empty on the opening day of the fair and gradually fills with works discovered and acquired on site.
With In Course of Acquisition, MAMCO affirms its role within the art ecosystem and the local scene, acting as an active and specific partner for artists, galleries, collectors and the wider public. The project is made possible thanks to the support of Mirabaud & Cie, the Association des Amis du MAMCO, and an anonymous donor.
