Focus on Untitled (Mattress), a 1996 work by Swiss artist Fabrice Gygi. Composed of six mattresses wrapped in orange plastic sheeting and held together with straps, it is installed along the museum’s staircase railing. An emblematic piece, deliberately resembling a protective device against impact, it reveals the physical and psychological tensions that run through the artist’s practice, in which everyday objects become metaphors for control, constraint, and power.
