This summer, MAMCO is teaming up with the Scène Ella Fitzgerald to present the Bamby* concert at Parc La Grange. Before the festival, enjoy a convivial offer in the heart of the Eaux-Vives district. There will be a special opening of the Psot Netebras Xul exhibition with a DJ set of AWKA* and a bar, as well as flash visits at 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm. It's free and no registration is required, but it's subject to availability.
*AWKA is a Chilean DJ living in Geneva. She began her Dj-ing career in 2017. Since then, she has mainly developed her research around Women & Queer Reggaeton.
AWKA distills conscious cumbia & perreo tracks, sung or produced by women, trans and non-binary people, because for her, Dj-ing is also political. This particularity has enabled her to share the stage alongside international artists such as Sara Hebe, Kumbia Queers, Ana Tijoux, Ketekalles, Dengue Dengue Dengue, Chico Trujillo and El Caribe Funk. AWKA is also keen to support social and political causes by mixing for support evenings and demonstrations.
*Meet Bamby – French Guiana’s most-streamed female artist and a rising star on the Afro-Caribbean scene. Blending Afro beats and Dancehall with flair, she has won over an international audience and racked up major collaborations (Natoxie, Jahyanai, Keblack), gaining a strong social media presence and delivering hit music videos. With MUSE (2025), Bamby has taken a bold step, unveiling her most personal and eclectic work yet. With her infectious beats and diverse influences, Bamby is asserting her role as a cultural ambassador for French Guiana, showcasing her boundless creativity along the way. Further information is available on the Ville de Genève website.
