At the heart of the Old Town, on the Esplanade Théodelinde, the Saint-Antoine Archaeological Site (SaSA) is a new cultural space dedicated to Geneva’s archaeology. Bridging the museum site and the cultural scene, it invites us to rethink the relationship between heritage conservation and its enhancement. For its opening, following more than a decade of excavations and construction, the site commissioned the MAMCO to propose a specific artistic intervention project. The choice fell on the work of Joana Hadjithomas & Khalil Joreige, specifically a series of works related to archaeology.

As part of Geneva Art Week and its evening dedicated to the Old Town, the MAMCO and the Site archéologique Saint-Antoine (SaSA) invite you to a guided tour of the artistic intervention by Joana Hadjithomas & Khalil Joreige. This visit will allow you to discover the MAMCO exhibition and explore the dialogues between memory, science, history, and creation.

Cindy Dulac, Head of SaSA, will open the session by presenting the Saint-Antoine Archaeological Site and the stakes of this collaboration with the MAMCO, at the crossroads of heritage, archaeology, and contemporary creation. The tour will then be led by a lecturer-guide from the MAMCO team.
