Khalil Joreige, who has collaborated with Joana Hadjithomas for three decades, speaks here on the occasion of the presentation of Palimpsests, Time Capsules & Trilogies. This series of works, conceived in connection with archaeology, inaugurates the Saint-Antoine Archaeological Site (SaSA), a new cultural space dedicated to Geneva’s archaeology, highly anticipated after 18 years of construction.

In this interview, the artist discusses the value of shifting the traditional perspective on archaeology to incorporate a contemporary viewpoint. He explains how the tools of excavation and geology allow for the exploration of new forms of narration, the questioning of representational principles, and the writing of history in alternative ways.
